The festival runs from Friday 9 August to Sunday 11 August.

Since Alborada launched in July 2009 with a documentary screening on Brazil's Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) it has provided a platform for documentaries, organised and supported hundreds of talks and published countless articles on Latin American politics, media and culture. Alborada has collaborated with diverse independent media outlets and grassroots campaigns and festivals, including El Sueño Existe. Alborada’s sister organisation Alborada Films (also launched in 2009) produces and promoted social issue documentaries and video material from Latin America and beyond.

Alborada/Alborada Films founder Pablo Navarrete will look back on 15 years of both organisations, showing a short clip from his interviews with Bolivian president Luis Arce and showing an exclusive clip from his new documentary Mother, Country which features his parents. His mother Cristina Godoy-Navarrete will also join the panel.

Pablo will also chair the sessions 'The Political Situation in Bolivia' and 'Food Sovereignty in Bolivia' featuring Dr Francisco Dominguez and Claudia Turbet-Delof (Wiphalas across the World).

We will also have an Alborada stall with our t-shirts, mugs, prints and hoodies as well as books and Alborada Films DVDs. You can visit our online shop here.
